Thanks again, James, for the great fishing on the 15 and 16 June. Our kids had a great time. Perhaps we will do it again.

Sue and Chuck

Hi James, had a good time two Fridays ago, appreciated the safety orientation, and we caught fish. Mark us down for the same Friday in July next year and send us an e-mail; early in the year.

Jay

Just a note James to thank you for a very good day fishing with you. The wives also enjoyed the fishing.

Lawrence

Hello! I have a favour to ask. Yesterday we went on your charter. We caught an amazing 9 fish. You took an picture of us with the fish and could you please send us a copy.

Line

Just want to thank you again for taking Wayne and I out with you on Tuesday. We both enjoyed the time a lot and caught fish.

Doug

James a huge thanks for the Aug 2 trip. Heading out with someone new is always a gamble but within the first five minutes on your boat I realized I picked the right captain. Boat was clean and organized and the quick lesson on the location of emergency equip. was the difference that sets Chasen Charters aside from the fly by night guys. The fishn was awesome of course with a beauty salmon in the boat within minutes and when the fishing slowed down you headed out to one your sweet spots, changed tactics’ and rewarded us with mix of big rainbows and salmon. Two double headers including one with a third fish on moments after reeling the first two in, just awesome. This trip was the perfect wedding gift for my buddy and the group of us is looking forward to booking with you next year.

Mike

As yearly, a great fishing trip. Thank you so much. Everyone in Plum Hollow will be eating salmon except myself. Gone back to Deep River. Louise is anxious to see the picture of the fish.

Peter.

Hello everyone,

Yes it finally happened, I reached the ½ century mark, one of those events in life where youthful flexibility gives way to joint pain and that extra bit of waist line. For my birthday Jessica and Joey bought me a Chartered fishing trip on Lake Ontario with Jim Dexter of Chasen Fish Charters.

The boat was located on the shores of Lake Ontario, at Port Hope, so we headed southwest for 3+hours. Slept over night at the King Gorge Hotel in Cobourg Ontario, headed to Tim’s at 4:20 AM and met Jim Dexter at the boat at 4:45 AM June 29th. Got ourselves in the boat and he pulled out of the Channel into Lake Ontario. The lake was a bit rough tossing us around in the swells. Jessica immediately turned green and my Tim Horton’s Coffee and Bagel got “all shook up”. Old iron guts Joey just kept smiling waiting for the sun rise and Jim to bait the rods and get fishing. We did not get too far out into the Lake when Jim got everything rigged up. The kids decided to let me have the first fish which hit about 15 minutes into the troll. With rod in hand I enjoyed the thrill of the excitement waiting to see the monster on the end of my line. I brought in an 8 lbs. rainbow (picture 1). You will notice in the picture they are not the colourful rainbows you normally think of when imagining a rainbow, but they, for some reason are more silver out in the lake. Next up was Joey and he reeled in a nice 11 lbs. rainbow (picture 2).

Now the sun was cresting the horizon and Jessica’s white green complexion was glowing as we called her to take the next rod with a “FISH ON!”. I got up beside Jess as she was having significant difficulty holding onto the rod and the line was being stripped out of the spool. We were fishing in 70 feet of water, down 32 feet and of course I thought she had a snag...silly me! The line kept being stripped off the spool, and Jim slowed the boat down to a slow drift and then proceeded to bring in all the other rods. I could hear the music from the movie Jaws playing in my head but kept it to myself! Jessica looked at me and said “he is taking all the line daddy, what should I do?”, at which point I said something to Jim. He said, no worries, there is lots of line on that spool. Jess and I looked at each other in disbelief as the spool continued to empty. By now Jessica’s stomach was sore so Jim got her one of those Big Blue Marlin deep sea fishing belts to put around her 20 inch waist. I was holding onto Jess just to make sure her 105 lbs frame did not get jerked out of the boat. Jim tried to bring the boat around and Jess spent the next 30 minutes reeling in a 25 lbs Salmon (Picture 3). What a fish! Shortly after all that excitement Jessica decided to feed the fish as the motion finally got to her. Poor girl was bent over the edge of the boat for 15 minutes. We thought we might have to leave her in a dingy so we could continue our fishing and pick her up later provided the dingy stayed on the GPS coordinates!

Then of course comes my turn. After a fish like that, I cannot think SMALL! Impossible, mine is going to be BIGGER RIGHT, MUCH BIGGGGERRRR!!!!! Joey yells “FISH ON!” I leap out of my seat expecting the battle of my life and for Jim to get me one of those waist belts! Rod in hand, I am able to reel this one in....WHAT!?...another rainbow (picture 4)... well I at least got to hold Jessica’s big fish! After that brief excitement, Joey gets another chance on a rod as I called FISH ON. Joey with the rod in hand, the line stripping out of it and me hearing the Jaws theme in my mind again, watch Jim quickly reel in all the lines. Joey looks at me and asked, “should we cool the reel with water?”, I told him to “reel in his minnow”. It took Joey about 25 minutes to get his “minnow” to the boat (pictures 5). What a fish, a 27 lbs Salmon! Both the kids are now grinning from shore to shore....yes even Jessica. Next up was Jessica, and the reel started giving up line AGAIN!!!! Now, you can image that I am thinking, I am going to land the biggest fish of my life today since both the kids got big Salmon, my turns a comin! Of course with it now being Jessica’s turn, Jess has gotten Jim trained by now, so Jim, stops the boat and gets in all the lines. Jessica lands another beautiful Salmon (picture 6). We caught a few more fish, I landed the last fish, a rainbow.

Of course we had to have a photo with the fish on the Chasen Fish Board (picture 7) which was so heavy we could not lift it high enough off the ground to show the fish tails in the air. We even made the Chasen Fish “Fish Report Update Page”... http://www.chasenfish.com/pages/reports.htm take a look!!

This was one of those “Days of a lifetime with your children”. I have been blessed with many such days doing other things with my children over the past 24... almost 25 years aye...Jess! We had so much fun and the memories, many memories which will rest in our hearts forever!! You just have to look at the expression on the faces in the pictures to see the depth of joy and love! Take someone you love fishing!

Dave

Jim
Thanks again for the great day yesterday as all 3 of us had fun. I am hoping that you can send me the pictures you took during the day. Again it was August 27th and there were 3 of us. Travis, Chris and John. We were the ones that had the 3 fish on at the end of the day.

Thanks,
John

Hi Jim,
Thanks for a great day fishing, Monday’s charter was the best one yet. You’ve taken us on some great charters before but this year was exceptional. The lads are already talking about next year’s trip.
Thanks again.

Marty

"Jimmy,
You can book us in for a charter. I have no idea as to how many time we have been out with you but every year it seems to get better. Last year when we got into those Rainbows was the best ever with one right after the other for an hour. Thanks for the fantastic trip."

Robin

"Thank you for a wonderful fishing trip again this year. We enjoyed our trip and the trouble you took to get us plenty of fishes. We will see you again next year."

Norman

Dave

"Just a few words to thank you for the wonderful fishing day we had with you on July 28th. I had the occasion to fish with other charters before but I must say you are the best. We saw that you worked really hard to get us some fish and that you cared for your customers.Your boat is great and very clean and we liked very much the way you cleaned the fish for us and entered them in the contest. Again thank you and you should see our gang back next year."

Norman

"Well fishing season has come to an end. I would like to thank you for the great day we had this year. The fishing was just the best. We'll be booking a couple more charters soon with, one in the spring and one in the summer. Also you turn me on so much with chartering I am looking into opening a charter business down here at Erieau Marina. I enjoy fishing with you again. Steelheads are fun to catch.

We once again thanks and I see you in the spring."

Bill

"Hi Jim,

You were fantastic again last summer and my daughter and I would like to reserve 4 hour trips on august 15 & 16 2005."

Alan

"I had the occasion of fishing with you two times last summer with two different parties and I just want to tell you our satisfaction with our fishing trips. You worked very hard to get us some fish and we told friends about you. You should get a couple more parties from our town next year."

Norman

"Hi Jim,

As always, we really enjoyed fishing (I should say catching) with you again this year. Your guide service is excellent!!! You have never failed to produce outstanding results.

Thanks again. We're looking forward to next year."

Al and Theresa

"Jim,

Congratulations on a great year! We certainly appreciate your work and support as a member of our Pro-Troll ProStaff Team in Canada.
Thank you."

Jack

"Hi there,

I just checked out the photo's for 2005, what a fantastic time you had, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th place fish all in your boat!

Congratulations!

We will be fishing again this summer, we hope, and we are trying to figure out when we will go this time. I guess it just depends on the weather, as the year before we caught some huge fish at the same time as fished this year. I have to tell you those lake trout were fantastic as far as eating. we still have one chunk left. We froze them like we used to in B.C. in a block of ice and they have kept very well. They stayed nice and moist.

Thanks again for a great fishing trip."

Lynda and Carman

"Thanks James. Great pics and a great trip -- hopefully we'll see you
next year... thanks again."

Jim

"Hi Jim,

Great Web Site. I dont get on the Computer too often but it is refreshing to read and see success stories.

The picture of the rainbow is great. I still dont realize how big it was. We wouldn't have the experience of this kind of fishing without Chasenfish as our host.

Thanks for the fun!"

Peter
